ML830 Cold Laser

ML830
Treatment with the ML830® cold laser is designed to temporarily relieve pain associated with the following conditions:

• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome • Plantar Fasciitis/Heel Spurs microlightimage  microlightimage
• Fibromyalgia • Tendinitis
• Neck and Shoulder Pain • Low Back Pain
• Post-Surgical Pain • Sciatica
• TMJ • Tennis Elbow
• Osteoarthritis • Bursitis
• Migraine Headaches

Benefits of 830 Laser therapy include:

Reduced Pain – Although significant improvement can be achieved after only one treatment, most conditions require 3-10 treatments for maximal alleviation of symptoms. Chronic conditions may require more treatments. Pain reduction is achieved by increasing the level of endorphins in human tissue, as well as normalizing the action potential of the involved nerves to -70mV (normal) from a hyper excitatory state.
Less Inflammation and Faster Tissue Healing – Acute inflammatory conditions respond almost immediately to the 830 Laser treatments. The patented wavelength of 830nm can penetrate 5cm (up to 2 inches) through human skin, water, blood and fat with minimal absorption. Below the skin (subcutaneous); this is what happens:

– The lymphatic system is stimulated to help remove waste products and cellular debris from the site of tissue impairment.

– NO (nitric oxide), histamine and serotonin production are stimulated to produce a non-thermal vasodilatory response, improving circulation in the injured tissues.

– Angiogenesis (creation of new capillaries) is promoted which increases the rate of healing as circulation is improved.
Avoiding re-injury to the treatment area is critical to promote proper healing and avoid the return of pain.

Increased Tissue Strength – 830 Laser increases both collagen and fibroblast activity. Professional athletes are using this therapy to heal injuries faster. Laser treated tissues are stronger after recovery than with natural healing alone.

Experimenting clinicians found that an 830 nm laser is optimal for treating chronic pain. An example of how LLLT works involves soft tissue trauma. These types of injuries consist of damage to the deep, sensitive layers of tissue beneath the epidermis, including muscular, neural, lymphatic, and vascular tissue.

The human body normally reacts to this soft tissue trauma by “splinting” the injury with edema, a thin or watery fluid in tissue spaces or cell interstices. However, excess edema causes swelling that inhibits movement of the damaged tissue.

These injuries result in two types of pain. The first is actual traumatic pain from the injury itself, and the second pain is from the swelling that results. LLLT focuses first on the lymphatic system which maintains the body’s fluid balance, while the laser light also helps absorb the excess edema. LLLT thus provides relief in two ways.
